Heritage
Heritage is an object which is used in its main capacity as a hanger but is a statement of material and Irish background. When looking at my Irish cultural past, brass has been used throughout the home in different functions. From finger hooks for old Georgian windows in the heart of Dublin city centre to heavy candle holders seen above fireplaces in the depths of Donegal.
By taking this object into a modern space with a minimal design we see how one material can transcend through generations in certain surroundings particularly in Irish homes. A hanger is not just an object but a social statement within Irish history as it is the first place we look when entering a home from the rough Irish whether and the last when leaving it. It is not just an object but a warm comfort.
