Greenery is a modular hydroponic growth system for plants and vegetables in the form of wall dividers
Greenery is designed to increase workers productivity through physical and social engagement while encouraging a healthy lifestyle and mindset. Diet related diseases are the most commen cause of death since 2015 but in most cases completely preventable. Research shows that a workers engagement is at a high point when first employed and This level of engagement can drop dramatically after this initial period. Greenery aims to maintain the workers engagement levels by allowing them to concentrate on something other than just their work without taking up to much of their time
Greenery is designed to be a wall divider adding visual noise in the form of plants and edibles. These walls can be arranged to divide a space or form a new one and grow most types of vegetation.
It's modular design allows the vegetable to reside on a desk or In the trays. This aspect of adaptability also lends itself to be personalised in arrangement and the crop grown. The vegetable grown using Greenery is a reward to the worker and any excess can be giving to homeless kitchens around the city. This new skill will trickle down to the workers home life and will eventually allow them to grow their own at home.

Greenery was awarded a commendation by W2W for the Biophilia design competition 2017
The Pods
Greenery is made from the sustainable bioplastic CPLA, a treated PLA that allows the starch based polymer to not degrade until it is processed in a recycling plant.

Full Assembly
Greenery uses the Kratky Hydroponic style. This is the growth without the use of running water which eliminates the need for pumps of mechanics from Greenery. The pods block the light thus keeping the roots in darkness preventing rot and allowing the vegetations to flourish with the use of a simple mineral solution.
Allows light to reach the seeds through the semi translucent lid while containing moisture from the rockwool bedding.
Holds the roots and hydro rocks in the absence of soil without pinching the stem. Allows roots to grow out and reach the nutrient rich solution
Contains 4.5 litres of nutrient rich solution to develop a head of lettuce.
Holds the pods in place while providing light through the full spectrum LED grow light and reflector built into the body base.
Greenery is assembled using a male peg and female slot system in the trays which allows for different arrangements and the option for personalisation of the crop grown. At either end are storage compartments for nutrition solutions and tools.The undercarriage provides a light sensitive storage area for the seeds using a tinted CPLA

Imagine if even one highrise in New York had food growing vertically on every floor. This could go on to solve many urban problems such as hunger, poor diets and diet related disease, most of which are avoidable yet they are the most common reasons for death in the world since 2015.
